Darser Tain's Bad Fall

Tried drawing one of my other RP chars. This time I did a LOT more experimentation; mostly with lighting and shadows.
I don't really like the way this one turned out; the highlighting looks ugly and the shadows don't make much sense. The background is also terrible, didn't put much effort into it mostly because I don't know how! Next goal: Better backgrounds. I really need to work on how to display action, too. This looks so flat!

I do like how the explosion and glass look, though! Pretty much the only parts of this that I do like.

If you want to critique on some part of this, please do! Most of the stuff I tried in this one is brand new to me and I'd love a little guidance.
